Capitol Theatre
Capitol Theatre, (c.1930) Port Hope, Ontario
As Conservation coordinator responsible for development of work plan, cost estimates and site supervision for restoration of original mural paintings, original stenciling, replication of historic finishes, restoration of decorative plaster, original neon sign and marquee. This is the only restored atmospheric theatre in Canada.

A recent view before conservation work began
showing extensive water damage.

The same view taken in 1930 the week the theatre opened.

Once the plaster was repaired the missing murals
were repainted based on historic photographs.

The same view of the theatre interior after restoration was completed.

The front of the theatre opening week in 1930.

Before restoration …

…after restoration with stucco repaired, neon sign restored and mrquee replicated.
