Notre Dame Cathedral

Notre Dame Cathedral (1845-85), Sussex Drive, Ottawa 

(National Historic Site)
 

As consultant to E.A. Cuhaci and Associates Architects responsible for condition survey, recommendations, cost estimates, development of working drawings and specifications, and site review for conservation of window and door systems and all interior woodwork such as poly-chromed sanctuary, ceiling components, pews and altars. Gold Medal for Heritage Restoration, City of Ottawa.

Construction began on the church in the 1840’s 
and continued until late in the 19th century.

The interior had taken this present day form by the mid-1880's.

The interior wood work required extensive cleaning, small repairs, 
touch ups to finishes and some replication of missing components.
