Clemes House
Clemes House (c1880), King St., Port Hope Ontario
This Victorian duplex was built c1880 and originally had an elaborate front verandah. The project involves developing the working drawings necessary to accurately reproduce that verandah based on historic photographs and remaining physical evidence on the house itself. Construction is under way.

The existing front porch detracts from the building’s heritage character.

Paint ghosts on the brick work indicate the size and profile of some components.

As always historic photos provided invaluable information.

This is a portion of one of the drawing details developed for reconstructing the historic porch.

Construction underway at the Clemes House.
