Bank of Montreal

Bank of Montreal (1930) Sparks Street and Wellington Street, Ottawa, Ontario.

This project involved orchestrating the development of working drawings and specifications for the conservation of steel windows, brass windows, brass entranceways, and decorative window grilles constructed of brass, wrought iron and aluminum. Prototype restorations of some components were developed with the Canadian Conservation Institute. I served as a consultant to the Heritage Conservation Directorate, Public Works and Government Services Canada.

This is the prototype restoration of one of the decorative
grilles consisting of an iron and bronze frame with iron
and bronze decoration and aluminum volutes down each side.
