Auchmar & Clairmont Park

Auchmar & Clairmont Park (1855), Hamilton, Ontario.

This Gothic revival country villa was built by Sir Isaac Buchanan on Hamilton mountain between 1852-55. Craig’s initial involvement was to prepare a Historic Structures Report for the house and the carriage house. These reports identified and documented what was original, what was not, explained how the buildings evolved, and attempted to identify original room use.

More recently Craig assisted the project architects in preparing a tender package for the restoration of the original double hung wood windows and the exterior wood work. This work is currently underway.
