62-64-66 Brock St., (late 1820s) Kingston, Ont.

This project has involved developing drawings and specifications for the restoration of the building shop front. An interesting part of the project was preparing a building history based on the evidence uncovered during the restoration work. This exercise uncovered the fact that although the building presently looks like a mid-19th C. commercial structure it started life as a late 1820s residential building and as such is probably the oldest timber frame building remaining in the downtown commercial core.

Restoration work on mid-19th C. shop fronts and new
mast arm signs completed last year; masonry work
and 2nd storey windows will be undertaken this year.

This drawing shows profiles and configuration
of the 1820s millwork uncovered inside the building.
